Female Tech Entrepreneurs

Femtech companies are female-led startups and scaleups that build digital services and software to improve women’s health. Female tech entrepreneurs are building innovative technology to bridge the gap in health services provided to support women – across areas such as menopause, pregnancy, and postpartum. They form a significant proportion of female-led startups, but they aren’t the whole story.

Of course, there is a big gap in funding between male-founded and female-founded companies. In a Forbes article, Sylvia Kang, the co-founder and CEO of Mira, references average statistics showing on average that female founders raise $4.6 million, while male founders raise $9.2 million.

Despite this, women in tech are unwavering, and they continue to make their mark in the industry. Lindsey Taylor Wood, CEO of The Helm and an early-stage venture firm, cites female founders as producing 35% more ROI and 12% more revenue in their startups compared to male founders.

Femtech received $1.4B in 120 deals in 2023. According to Femtech World, the industry is expected to be valued at up to $1.186 trillion by 2027.

And we see this happening now. Here are some female-led businesses that are reimagining tech and have gained awards or recognitions recently.
